We bought our new Frigidaire 1/2 HP Waste Disposer FFDI501CMS from Spencer's Appliance here in Arizona. They had a great price on it for only $69.99!! and $65.00 for the installation so out the door for everything less than for $200.00. The home install for this new disposer was smooth and quick, in less than hour! It fits nicely under our sink. The new unit runs quieter than our old one! I like it and recommend this product if you are looking to replace your current unit.

Unit is made in China. The exterior is made of blue plastic. It is as loud as my builder installed old In-Sinkerator Pro disposer that lasted over 15 years. I don't have any expectation this one is going to last that long. Has a 2 year warranty but does have a cheap overall "feel" to it. Go for the Badger for peace of mind. Don't save a few bucks for the unknown. I bought it because it was readily in stock and I needed one when I needed it for over the long weekend. One plus was installation was really a breeze, totally just a one-for one direct no surprises replacement.

Rusted out. The company doesnt' respond. Read the reviews. They should last 10 years not 2 or 3. Pics are all different serial #'s. When they say someone is working with you, they mean they've told you, there hasn't been any reported defects with this years batch.

After 9 years, my old disposal died. I didn't want to install another heavy one, because I would be, once again, installing the new one by myself. I looked around and found this one by Frigidaire. It's light and easy to install. Very quite, too.

Had 117 theses installed at apartment complex. All of them are rusted inside. If you don't use it twice a day it will lock up on you.

My builder installed this model in our house December 2015. This morning, the unit made an awful noise, so I immediately removed power and took apart to troubleshoot. The rivet holding one of the blades came loose, sending the blade shooting around the unit™™s inner housing. This isn™™t something that can simply be fixed; therefore, I need a new unit. These things should last 10-15 years, yet ours lasted for 2.5 years (with minimal use, I might add). I called Frigidaire to see if they would stand by their product; however, they stand by the warranty - 2 years. That said, they didn™™t offer so much as an apology, let alone a replacement, for their seemingly defective product. Looks like there will be no more Frigidaire appliances for our family!

I bought this a couple of months ago. Rather than getting the standard brand that's usually at the hardware stores again, I wanted to try something different. That last "other brand" disposal I had was cheap and loud.I did some research and found this Frigidaire model for the same price, but it offered more sound insulation. I was skeptical since it was the same low price and I didn't know Frigidaire to make garbage disposals, but I gave it a go.This garbage disposal outperforms the last one I had and is noticeably quieter. It looks much nicer too, even though it'll spend its life under the kitchen sink hidden.The only issue I have is the design of the rubber pieces in the opening of the garbage disposal where it attaches to the flange. When the water drains, it doesn't drain quickly because the those rubber pieces are just flaps that have a small opening in the center. It causes the water to pool a little at the bottom of the drain, which gets worse if food gets stuck there. The other brand had staggered rubber pieces that allowed the water to drain more quickly.Despite this one flaw, I would definitely get this over my previous one given the choice again.
